STIGS PIC DONE

In our 62nd podcast, we talk to Oli Banks, head brewer at Stigbergets Bryggeri.

The Swedish brewery has made a name for itself over the past few years for their stunning IPAs, so we talk to Oli about their hoppy reputation, how it came about and where it has taken them.

Oli was born in England so gives us an insight into moving over to Gothenburg to work at the brewery, and what he’s been doing at Stigbergets ever since.

A big part of beer in Sweden is the quite strict laws they have around alcohol. Probably the most obviousis the government run stores called Systembolaget that are the only places in Sweden you can buy beer over 3.5%. Oli tells us how the laws impact brewing, what the beer industry does to work with Systembolaget, and gives us a overview of how the Swedish laws around beer work.
